Summer Fun 2010

We have been so lucky to go up to Cleveland and see Julie and watch Mitch Pitch in many games. Well, this time I talked with Julie and it just so happened that Mitch was going to be out of town so we had her come camping with us and then all of us went to Cincinatti to watch Mitch pitch against the Reds. Reds were #1 at the time and were on I think a 5 game winning streak. I am so glad to say that Mitch stopped that!! He pitched really well that game.

Julie is so good to our boys. We had to take a picture of Lennix and Jensen with her because this will be something they will always remember doing with her. :)
All of us at the game
Jensen was being so funny. He was insistent that I take a picture of him. It looks like he's been slugged in the eye!
Funny faces
Lennix wanted to take a funny picture in his hat also.
After the game Mitch usually stops to give some autographs by the player parking area. I happen to realize Lennix standing watching Mitch. I thought it was a cool little moment.

Here are some pictures of our camping trip to John Bryan and our swimming day at Buck Creek lake. This is where we found shelter from the sun and had lunch. A bunch of us met up there for the day.
Exploring in the sand
Lennix and Jensen would find little things in the sand and then make roads in the dirt and drive whatever they found. It was really cute to watch.
Jay taking a swim with his boys. You can tell by his "tan", he's been locked inside a school all summer :).
Perfect weather for a swim
Evie (Tabby and Andy's youngest) and Jensen can always be found digging in the dirt. Supprisingly, they have become really good buddies despite their age difference.
At our camp site. Me, Tabby, Tabby's sister Mandy and Julie
Same girls - I just wanted to include Sunni :)
Of course all they guys built a sweet raccoon trap. That is what they were most looking forward to on this trip.
Around every 4th of July the Air Force Base in Dayton puts on a free air show. The Millers invited us to go with them and their family. So, since it was so close to our camp site at John Bryan, we set up all of our stuff and them came to the Air Show.

Of course Lennix practiced his throwing and catching with Jay. This was him so excited after catching the ball.
Such a great picture of Jensen. Those are his love eyes.
Enjoying the show
The planes were really loud
Movie Night at the Talbots
The Millers got a bunch of "Clean Flix" so we decided to have a movie night. We watcheed "V for vendeta". We all loved it and it was really different than any show we had seen. Just know it was an edited DVD so don't go watching it without it cleaned up :).
P.S. If you notice Jay in this picture, this is the face that he goes to when he does not want his picture taken. A bit scary! Also, it looks like he's had his right leg amputated. Nice!
Kirtland!
We went up to watch Mitch in another game and decided to drive up to Kirtland while we were there. Wonderful Julie took our kids for us and we got to tour through the Temple first and then do some of the LDS tour site (our favorite). We loved learning so much about how much Church history is up there. We had no idea.
It is so beautiful here. This was right by the Kirtland Temple

Jensen's First Stitches :(
My good friend Kacey asked if I would help her decorate for a wedding at our church so I brought the boys along and they were great for me the whole time. We had just finished the very last of the decorations so we wanted to close the curtains to see what everything looked like finished. Well, Jensen decided to run behind the curtains and he somehow fell through them and on the other side he knocked over a pile of vases sitting on the stage. They shattered and of course Jensen fell right on top of them. I instantly brought him to me and asked if he was okay. He was a little shaken but seemed fine. I then looked at his arm and noticed a nice gash. It looked pretty brutal and I could tell it had gone through all the layers of skin and there was plenty of blood. I grabbed his wound and applied pressure as my friends went into gear. In an instant, someone had gone to my car for my first aid kit. Another girl was getting a hold of Jay on his phone. And I was given paper towels to help clean up Jensen. It was awesome how fast everyone worked. Well, I cleaned him up and pushed his cut together and put a couple of butterfly bandaids on it and Jay walked in right then. I was feeling pretty good because he told me I did a good job with the wound.
We found an Urgent Care that was right down the street. Poor Jensen had to be strapped down for the stitches so Lennix and I went to the front to wait for him. Jensen came out and I could tell he had been crying but he was really calm. What a trooper. I was so grateful to have found that Urgent Care. In less than an hour Jensen was stitched up and taken care of. He actually was quite facinated by his stitches. As you can tell, Lennix was too.
Perfect face for this picture

Camping over Memorial Day
This was a memorable weekend. We really wanted to go camping with our friends so we decided to go to to Buck Creek over Memorial Day. We packed the car and the kids and headed up there before anyone else to get a good camp spot. . . Yep, there was not one campsite available!! We were so sad. We called everyone and tried to find another place to camp. I have to say we really missed Utah this day because
1) There are so many places to camp in Utah and you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to camp there
2) When you are camping you are actually in the mountains
3) Here at Buck Creek camping area, you are literally 50 yards from the next camp site, the roads are paved, there are bathrooms and showers and playgrounds. They call this camping! :)
Well, needless to say we had gotten everything ready to go camping so we were bound and determined to find a place to camp that night. . .
We ended up driving all the way back to our apartment complex. There is a little cemetery that is right by our duck pond by our apartment complex. Yup, that's where we camped. Right by our apartment. It actually ended up being so much fun and so memorable. This is the fire we built on the gravel road next to our tents and cars.
roasting classic smore's
These are our good friends Peter and Sherrida. We love that they didn't think we were nuts to camp there. If you look through the trees, you can actually see our apartment complex :)
Not a bad camp site. I think we may have found a great place to do bond fires at night.
Swimming in the front yard
I found this frog pool at a garage sale for 3 dollars and it has brought much happiness to Lennix and Jensen. Julie and Ace came to visit us and this is how we spent one of our afternoons.
