Spring Break 2011 in Oklahoma

Jay and I were talking about what to do for Spring Break 2011. We made a few phone calls to Russ and Ani and Brent and Meg and soon after that we jumped in the car and drove to Oklahoma. It was so great that we had not only one family but two to visit while we were there. What was crazy is that we foun out that they only lived about 5-10 minutes away from each other!! What a great time we had.

Russ and Ani out did themselves on a BBQ that we had at their house. We have never had so much or better BBQed meat than we did there. It makes my mouth water just thinking of it. Ani made this awesome corn jalepeno dip that I just can't quite get to taste the same. Mmmm.

The boys have had nothing but freezing rain and snow since January so the first sight of Russ and Ani's  pool they couldn't help but get in. The heater was turned on earlier that day but it takes a while to heat up. I think we read the temp at about 68 degrees. As you can tell it was really cold but they had a good time. I think they only stayed right there for only about 10 min but it was worth it to them.

Family picture in Russ and Ani's backyard

Such a cute picture

Meg took some really great pictures of Jay holding Beckham while we just chatted at their house.

May favorite one!

Meg and I thought it would be fun to have everyone come to the lake and have lunch. Russ and Ani brought their canoe. It was so nice to be outside and enjoying good weather.

Great picture of me and my sis Ani

I had to post all of these adorable pictures of Beckham. Meg took so many good ones :)

Oh, those cheeks

 Three peas in a pod

He has such a way with our kids to calm them down

This picture is Russ and Ani taking Jensen for a ride. It was fun to see how much he loved it.

 Classic!

We went downtown and walked by the river and then ate ate a really yummy restaurant

I love how peaceful Jensen looks in this picture

Brent took Jay on a tour of his dental school and Meg took a photo shoot of the boys on campus grounds. She did such a great job. I know I am their mom, but these are some pretty handsome boys.

Soaking up some sun

The pool did heat up and we had a swim party

Russ got us some free zoo tickets but they couldn't come because he had to work and Ani's school schedule is crazy so we went with Brent and Meg and their kids.

I don't have a picture of it but one of my favorite memories of this trip was one of the nights that we were staying with Ani and Russ we put down the kids and talked and played some "Golf" card game. Russ started to play the guitar and Jay grabbed the other guitar. It turned into Ani and I finding the words to songs they knew on her phone and we would sing as they played their guitars together. The best song was "hallelujah. It was so much fun and made for a really memorable night.
