Enjoying the Winter

We have had 3 pretty big snow storms in what seems like 2 weeks. I have to admit I'll take a pretty snowy day over a gloomy brown iced over snow day. I just don't want to drive in it. Well, we took advantage of this beautiful sunny day and went outside to build a snowman. As you can tell, I mostly built the snow man while the boys feasted.
They actually helped a lot after I showed them that they can scoop with their cups and dump the snow on the snow man and pack it down. They were so proud of their creation. I for one love the hair. It's my favorite part. Lennix and I just finished reading his first book with chapters called Flat Stanley's adventure to Mt. Rushmore. So he officially named the snowman Frosty Stanley the Snowman. I thought it was a perfect fit.
We used oreo cookies as buttons and I think they wanted to take them off and eat them.
That's a good smile
Hugging Stanley
I think we built the biggest sledding hill in all of Ohio right in our front yard. :)
I told them to smile for the camera. I don't think Jensen heard me :)
This funny face picture turned out perfectly!! I love my buddies!

the Mandi-Ball

I can't believe that it has already been a year since we attended our first Dental Mandi-Ball. I guess I let him know how much I wanted to go so he surprised me by taking me for Valentines. Please bear with all the picures of us. I couldn't decide which one to not put in so I put a bunch. :)
It was such a fun night and they make you feel pretty important. We even had valet parking. It was in down town Columbus in this beautiful old building in the ball room. The food was good and we even won a day pass to a water park. After the raffle we danced for a while and we all got pretty crazy on the dance floor :). It was pretty funny when we got in trouble for dancing up on the upper balcony.

Some of our friends that we sat by.
In the foyer right before we left
Jay was in a fun mood so I thought I could get some pictures out of him. This is our little photo shoot. Thanks Kacey.

The Super Bowl

Okay, so we are not huge football fans but anything that sparks a party is worth making some good food and having some good company to share it with. These are are good friends the Prestwich's and the Miller's. We were all routing for the underdogs.
I know how this looks. Pretty funny huh. What can I say, it was the Super Bowl :) Well, the Millers taste tested every kind of Cream soda and brought the rest of them over for the party. YUM!
I think Jensen finished off everyone's bottle.

Jay's 28th Birthday

We did Jay's cake my mom's style with the sparkler. The kids loved it. Jay didn't want a big party so we invited our friends the Millers over and had dinner and then the cake and ice cream.
The sparkler lasted so long that Jay was ready to spit on his fingers and get his wish but then it went out. Happy Birthday Baby!! I'm sure your wish had something to do with the many, many tests that are coming up! :)

The "R"ainbow Challenge Preschool

It was my week to teach preschool and I had the letter "R". I decided to focus on simple, fun, and educational "Challenges" that the kids could complete. There were 4 different stations and the picture below was the Race challenge. They had to race while Rolling, Running, and Riding. They had so mcuh fun, as you can see on Lennix's face.
These are all of the kids in our Preschool class! :) Basically all of Lennix's best friends.
After they completed each of their Challenges they got stickers to fill up the back of their medallions. They got so excited each time they earned a sticker. This is them having snacks and holding up their medallions.

My good friend Kacey and I were able to go to Jill's (one of our Young Women) Fundraiser concert. About 3 months ago she asked if I would start giving her some vocal lessons and she babysits my kids for free in return. I don't think she understands how that is so much better than being paid!! I was so glad to hear that she was singing "Only Hope". We had worked on this song for a while. She blew us all away. It was actually the first time that even her parents had heard her sing. It was really fun to see them so proud of their daughter. I'm really not joking when I say she was the best of show that night.

We are Pregnant!

It's funny the things that have come up while Jay and I have talked about when to have our next baby. We have really anticipated this pregnancy because we decided it would be better to wait until after Jay's boards in June and also, I wanted the new baby to have it's own birthday month. So, we are really lucky that everything worked out as we planned and now I am almost 13 weeks along! Yes! The due date is Sept. 15 th. It's crazy to find out your pregnant and deliver all in the same year. It will go fast.

So, I took the pregnancy test and I wanted to do something fun and simple to tell Jay so Lennix, Jensen and I made Jay's his favorite chocolate chip cookies. They whole time I kept prepping Lennix that when we give Jay the cookies he is supposed to say "We are having a baby!" Well, at dinner I thought it would be fun to do a little game of hang man after our FHE lesson and then we could have the cookies for our treat. As we were eating Jay simply asks, "What are the cookies for?" Lennix instantly shouts with his arms up, "We are having a baby!" It was pretty funny. It was as if he was just waiting gor it. I shirked it off like it was no big deal and then we finished with dinner. After our FHE Lesson we played our hang man game. It was fun to see Jay try to figure out the phrase. When he did figure out what it said he mouthed the sentence and then he looked at me and said, "Are we really having a baby?" It was so much fun. We are so excited to add another little baby to our family. It feels like we have waited a long time and we are ready to be out numbered by three kids!! :)

Christmas In Layton

Jay and I packed the car after a wonderful breakfast with our family in Cedar and then we headed up to Layton to my parents home. We arrived at about 4:00 for Christmas Dinner. It was so fun to see everyone. After dinner, my parents wanted to give the boys their presents. Jensen got the Letter Factory DVD to help him to learn to read and Lennix got a Ring Around the Nose game. They loved them. In this picture is Indy and Jensen.

Lennix and his cousin Lauren playing his game. They looked so cute.
The day after Christmas we decided to go sledding with some of our family. It was the most beautiful day and we had so much fun!! Thank you Jasen for the awesome sledding movie you put together. My boys LOVE IT!! This is Jay and Lennix all ready to go.
Jensen's day consisted of sledding down the hill and then eating the snow for about 10 min. and then he'd do it all over again. He loved it.
Of course he's eating the snow. This is Jensen and his cousin Alec. We did not have enough sleds so we used what we had. It actually worked really well.
Just a fun picture of me and Jay. Winters in Utah are so pretty!
Just hang'n out at Grandpa Skip's and Grand Barbie's
They loved that they had their own little table to eat on.
On the 28th we decided to have a family Bowling night. Thanks, Dad, for being such a great sport! It was really fun.

Good form Dad!
My Darling Parents and the newest addition to our family, Calvin.
Can you tell we are family? :)
It is not a trip home without having a game night and and ice cream party down stairs. My parents really do have to greatest party house.
This is our familly friend Mike. We should have had him around the whole holiday. The kids were glued to him playing games.
We had to make everyone an Ohioan treat, Buckeyes. Jensen and Alec are helping me dip them in the chocolate.
Just a cute picture of them
My sister Daph and her family gave Lennix and Jensen this shave kit for Christmas. They had a great time in the tub with it. Now, all I have to say is that they can use their shave kit and they will jump right into the tub. Here are a few pictures of their bath.

The night before we left we put on a movie in the theater for the kids. They thought is was awesome that they got their own pillow, blanket and snacks to eat while they watched Monsters inc.
While they watched their movie Steph had got all of this really nice pedicure stuff from her sis-in-law and she was nice enough to let us use it. My mom does not like her feet touched but Steph was insistant that Mom neede a bit a of pampering. It was a good way to end the holidays. We already miss ALL of our family!! We had such a memorable holiday!
