Some of the things we have been up to

We went to this really neat place called Slate Run Farm. It is kept up in 18th Century style. Even all the people that ran it are dressed in period. I was invited by some of the girls in my ward and we packed lunches and had such a great time. I love that they have kept every thing authentic there. This was one of the darling homes.

This sheep pushed it's head right through those boards and came right up to Lennix. He love it. All of the animals were so used to people that it made it really fun for the kids.

The leaves were starting to change. So pretty.

Of course, Jensen was eating everything he could get his hands on and having a great time doing it. A little grass won't hurt him.

This is how Lennix's plays with his cars. He loves to watch as the wheels turn.

I cut Jay's hair one evening and decided to also cut Lennix's. This was the only way he would let me do it.  He sat and sprayed himself in the face and giggled the entire time. 

Across from our front door, there is this pond. I think part of it is a bird refuge. We go over there and feed the birds and I always think of you mom when we go. You are the real life "Bird lady."

Oh yes, that is Jensen's food again. By this time i just had to laugh and snap a picture. This one turned out so well. Look at that guilty face.

Of course he's thinking, "But mom, it is so much fun (and you shouldn't leave it where I can get it all the time). I now never put it in my bad and store it high in the counter.

He was so excited to see pumba off of Lion King.

I told him to turn around for a picture and he gave me the best smile. Don't mind the huge lion in the background.

It was great that the lion was sitting right there.

There were 4 Otters that would jump into the water and then swim right across all the kids faces. Every Lennix would scream. Of course all the kids caught on. We stayed here probably the longest.

He wanted the goat to suck on his finger. The goat is thinking "what is that little kid doing. Please don't hurt me." Lennix didn't really know how to be soft with them. It was fun to watch him though.

We went to the Zoo the saturday before school started. Lennix loved the part where they had all of these goats lying and standing around and they let the kids in to pet them.

Yep. That is Jensen's formula. You should have seen the guilty look on his face when I walked in on him. Here he is trying to scoop up and put it back in for me.

This doesn't happen very often anymore. It's great that they basically have the same expression on their faces.

Jay's White Coat Cerimony

I wish cameras could really capture the moment. The sunset on our drive home was so beautiful.

The White Coat Ceremony too place at the Blackwell (which is a 5 star hotel) so we felt like celebrities. They Vallet your car open all your doors for you and then we had people usher us to the upstairs and showed us where to go. After the Ceremony there was a big buffet and there were a couple of photographers that were ging around all night taking pictures of everyone everywhere. We kind of felt like celebrities. I guess they wine and dine you and then that's it. Once school starts they whip you into shape. 

I had to take pictures of everything.

I think Jay was pinning something on Lennix. I thought this was such a cute picture.

Lennix was so sad when he saw Jay walk past him and to his seat. He wanted to go with him. Look how cute he looks in his little suite.

This is such a great picture and we had the best seats. He looks good in his white coat.

First days in Ohio

Oh Cute! He looks so professional for his first day of Orientation. Back to School he goes.

This is Lennix's new hobby when I forget to put away my pens. I think he has a radar, or he watched my every move to see when and where I am going to put my pen. Then he takes it and either hides in my closet or on the other side of his bed and goes to town. Whenever it gets quiet around here, I know something fishy is going on. Mom, does that sound familiar, or what!?

Jay is amazing. This is what the ABF trailor looked like with all of our stuff. I was afraid that if he moved one item the whole thing would fall because there was so much stuff in such a small area. Well, as we started to unpack about 4 other people came over and helped us unlod the whole trailor in about an hour and a half. It was so fast and we were so grateful for the help!

When we flew out here to look for a house and then decided to move into these apartments (Golf Point), the office manager Katie told us that they had not yet painted our apartment and if we wanted to, we could go pick out our paint colors and they would paint it for us. We were so excited. When we showed up we were really pleased with the color that we chose and now we wish we would have taken them up on the offer to paint the other rooms.

We wanted to get all the rest of the painting done before all of our stuff came. Jay was a good sport.

It actually went a lot faster than expected.

Jensen had never really been on a swing before and he loves it. He loves to go a little it higher ever time we swing. It's all about the simple things in life.

This is the play area that is right out side of our back deck. Jay's head is actually right over our deck. We are here just about everyday and there is usually 2 or 3 other girls that come out with their kids and we either just chat or figure out something fun to do for the next day. I love it.

This is our apartment. We moved got here about 3 days before our truck with all of our stuff came. It was actually really fun to sleep on blankets and the blow up matress. It felt like we were camping indoors. The kids slept really well also. Just a side note. On the 2nd day we were here Ohio received part of the Hurricane Ike and we lost power for 36 hours. We went over to eat at our friends Lundon and Adriane Albrecht and we played games over candlelight. It was actually really fun and memorable. Good thing we had our cell phones that acted like our flashlights when we went home that evening because as you can tell, we didn't have any other alternative sources to turn to. 

Road Trip To Dental School

Jay still happy after an entire day in the car. We had just seen the Columbus sign so I'm sure that's part of the smile on his face! In a way though I was a little sad to see the trip come to an end because we had anticipated this drive to Dental School for so long and the kids were so wonderful about spending many many hours in the car and we saw so many things. But, I was excited to see what was in store for this chapter of our lives!! There is no one better to go through it than with Jay. OHHHH!

WE ARE HERE! We were so excited to see this sign. You know how usually the last part of the drive is the worst. Well, it was not that way. We had really enjoyed our trip literally across the country and the last couple of hours went pretty fast. We just couldn't wait to see our apartment and start setting up home.

This was the only visible picture that I got of Carthage. We were not able to get out and walk around because of the rain but it was fun to drive through the town. I'm sure we will take a trip and tour the whole place. Plus, we were so exited to make it to Ohio by that night.

I liked how it looks like they are riding on top of the world.

It was so fun to go see the Temple with Jay. Even the rain added a certain mood to it.

It was really rainy and cloudy but if you click on this picture you will be able to see the Temple peeking out from the trees in the back.

On the road again. We left that next morning and it was raining hard. We could not beleive that this much water could come so quickley. We had to turn around and go another way. There were parts of our drive where we would be driving on flat road and the water was coming on all sides of us and we were a little weiry that we might not be able to carry on. But, the rain soon subsided and we were on our way  to nauvoo.

Tyler and Jenny took us bowling and it was so much fun. Tyler and Jenny: Thank you so much for letting us stay with you guys. You are such great friends and you will forever be part of our big move to Dental School!

I have to say that Lennix and Mckenzie are quite the bowlers. They did even better than I did. They loved it.

We had to watch as the ball slowley got all the way down to the pins. I don't think there was ever a time where he didn't get at least a few down. 

Tyler is in Medical School and had to do some homework. His school is a DO School(Doctor of Osteopathy) So as he worked on Jay I got under the table to take some pictures and ended up laughing SOOO hard.

Oh the days of Medical School. I'm sure we are not the last ones to be assessed in their front room.  Good Memories. 

Jensen fell asleep in the middle of the floor with his bottle in his mouth. I guess we tired him out from all the playing that day.

There was a big rain storm when we were at Tyler and Jenny's. We had so much fun and the rain puddle was the best part of the day. These are a few of the pictures that we took while we played in the rain.

Tyler and Jay had to get in on all the fun. They actually ended up staying out there for much longer than the kids. I'm glad they are still young at heart. OR maybe it's just the competitiveness coming out with every game they made up to play!! :)
